Homeschool Conversations Pt. 2

D-Man: Mom, I don't want to do school anymore. I want to play all of the time!

Mom: Alright, I guess we can throw your math books away, then.

D-Man: No! I still want to do math and spelling.

Mom: Okay, that's fine. We'll just stop doing geography .

D-Man: No, no. I love geography...I want to do that.

Mom: What about our school reading?

D-Man: Well, I want to do that too.

Mom: D, that's all of school. What is it exactly that you don't want to do?

D-Man: Tree book. (That Developing the Early Learner 3 and he doesn't like it because it requires outlining occasionally. The first two were his "favorite workbooks, ever!")

Mom: So, you still want to do school, just not tree book?

D-Man: Yup.

Whew, I'm glad we got that straight! I decided that we could take a break from tree book...

LOL! I completely understand your ds wanting to take a break from the tree book. ;o)

Outlining isn't my little man's favorite either, though the auditory memory activities where he has to memorize the oral directions are by far his least favorite. Funny thing though... he still calls the rest of them his fun sheets. :o) We are just going to be starting book 4.

Ahhh, our two really are similar. The auditory memory pages are the other set that he struggles with. He doesn't have a great auditory memory. Visual memory's no problem though! He still LOVES the mazes and comprehension exercises. We're still going to do tree book, just at a slower pace so that those troublesome pages don't seem to come up as often. We have about 1 round left of book 3.

Cute conversation! I get the "I don't want to do school" line every now and then too! But then she lists all the things she loves about school and her favorite things to do! hehe!
